Danganronpa: An Ultimate Analysis

At risk of setting myself up for looking like a fool, I really do mean the title of this video: this is as deep a dive I can do into Danganronpa at present, expanding on ideas I’ve discussed before while finding even more angles to view the whole. A lot of people that try to argue that Naruto is lacking seem to want to argue that because not all the problems were solved in the series missed the point. Naruto wasn't going to solve all the problems, but what he will do is help push the world forward to a better future. Madara/Kaguya's defeat wasn't the solution it was the first step towards peace. It was about enduring the pain while seeking a solution.

I watched the first ep. of YLIA and i couldn't shake off the fact that i didn't like how much of a pushover the main character is (and this video just explains it and i didn't even get past the first ep.) I'm glad i skipped it and gave MCILAL instead.

But to leave a more substantial, yet controversial comment - it is funny how Joe's ending, its beautiful tragedy, was realised in a meta sense - with all the manga and anime trying to "depict the tommorow", to live past the "beautiful death" - and they all fail, misunderstand or ironically show why Joe in a twisted way wished to die: Like one of your reference examples is a literal pedo vampire show - are these flames worth blazing on, or should they turn to ash in the rays of tommorow like the demonic ghouls they are? Joe a show with basically no fanservice, yet all the succesor seemed to go more and more into it, till people did start to develope fetishes that are to weird to describe, as anyone on the internet is sadly aware of... But even without being a prude (I wish I was...) - even the other references seem to fail, to just be pale imitations, member berries and simulacra - hell even 20th century boys, a decent manga I admit, kinda had the feeling of trying yet only mimicking the real thing Joe touched. And the final Joe-ke is that Joe, a story that actually showed the consequences of self destructive pursuits, got its message sanitized into "just work yourself to death cause you are the mc and all the consequences will go away!!!" - instead of being a resignation of sacrificing oneself to reach meaning, even for a moment, it got twisted by modern anime into just being capitalistic propoganda to work some bullshit job forever... The point of Tommorows Joe was, that sadly, atleast in Japan, there really wasnt an tommorow for the average Joe, just existing in the shadows, as shown by the other prison inmates at the end resigning themselves to mediocrity. And to get back to my point of Joe being the best anime - it is it just for the fact that it raised a question no othet following show could ever satisfyihgly answer Oh also because the OST with all the little embelishment was cool😂

Sad I missed this! I just started replaying the games in Japanese and have a lot to say. Some notes from this VOD, apologies if these have been addressed in the next one: 1. I believe the exact reason for why the first two cases reveal the murderer is because Shu Takumi was inspired by Columbo, and wanted to put emphasis on the the thrill of cornering the culprit rather than figuring out whodunit. Generally speaking (as I'm sure you've noticed) the AA games are far more focused on howdunits than whodunits as a whole, even in the cases where the culprit's identity is kept secret. 2. Redd White isn't actually American in Japanese-his name is Masaru Konaka. Rather, he's a Japanese businessman who *spent* a lot of time in America, so he pretends to speak mostly English, except a lot of the English he uses is intentionally broken and incorrect. He's essentially LARPing as an American business tycoon. That's why in the localization, he uses a lot of made up words in English, like Cogniferous, and uses other high vocabulary wrong. 3. Maya's "burgers" are "ramen" originally. The idea in localization is that ramen is cheap, somewhat unhealthy but tasty treat, and burgers can be considered similar from an American perspective. 4. Shu Takumi actually went to a few trials in order to study up for making the first Ace Attorney, though he ended up thinking they were really boring, which I think is funny. On that note, though, while the courtroom in Ace Attorney is definitely very whacky, it is very much based on the Japanese legal system and acts more as a satire, exaggerating all of its parts for entertainment value and to say something about it.

Among the many great anime I've seen, "Aikatsu!" remains the pinnacle of my entertainment experiences and has left a lasting impression on me. It delivers a healing effect like the Iyashikei sub-genre. An English-friendly Blu-ray release would be great if it ever got licensed in the US.

The sad state of the anime community is so bad that it; no joke; dragging down my mental health. The finale of Mushoko Tensei, the supposedly greatest Isekai of all time and a universally beloved """masterpiece""", took a small 80% of the season finale episode to have people standing still in a room discussing and praising polygamy. It's incredibly clear that the author doesn't see this as a casual random gimmick; Even before I even mention that this Room has s a person with my point of view: That person is of course planned to fail by the author and laughed at by all the anime fans in the world. She is clearly in the wrong, everyone who supports polygamy is clearly in the right. So it's no wonder that the entire internet is adopting this position and not just every anime reaction channel but just every guy who has anything to do with anime is giving their two cents. His always-identical mainstream two cents @craftsdwarf @sebastianfeuerstein9306 @Unwantedbroacast

The idea that Gon will come back with a completely different mentality and, thus, a different nen type and ability is so fun to me. Like, growing beyond his mindset of needing to be strong to impress Ging, he could very well become more tactical and mindful. So, instead of recreating Jajanken, he could do something completely different. SPECIALLY if he comes back as a specialist. Imagine 16y doing some crazy hatsu shenanigans

One piece is guilty of everything fairy tail is. The only difference is one piece is taken more seriously for some reason. willpower is the " magic" of one piece instead of the friendship powering up in fairy tails magic. And your making excuses for luffy's stupidity, while critisizing natsu is ridiculous. Especially considering both his position in the story and how he fits in the story is fundamentally different. Luffy is the leader and the main character. Natsu is just a prominent guy in the guild and practically, part of an ensemble, only sort of main character. While natsu is technically the main character, the story doesnt treat him as the center of the universe most of the time and primarily is reactive to a given situation. Luffy, on the other hand, is treated as the main drive in the story and the story revolves around him. As a result natsu's drive is going to inherently be less important than luffy's. They are both dumb and reckless and don't learn, but i'd argue luffy is worse because he is the leader and thus responsible for what happens. Being in charge and stupid shouldn't mix . The crew should be dead many times over. Yet people blindly follow him. Natsu is essensially some irresponsible meathead not really incharge of anything and everyone knows that. The fact you think you that luffy is a more understandable main character change the fact it makes no sense that he is the captain.

I think onw of the most important points made in the video is the affirmation of "Danganronpa is about many things", onw mistake that i see commonly made by people that don't tend to engage with criticism is to find one meaning in a work and critic said work as if that symbolism was the only point of said work (See people insisting that naruto is about "hardwork"). Narratives, art, and other forms of expression can embodied multiple symbolisms and that is something that needs to be stated. Other than that, glad you came back to making videos.
